Privacy policy

Last updated October 4, 2026

This policy explains how Cathode handles information when you visit cathodepcb.com, create an account, manage a subscription, or contact us.

Information we use

  • Account information. Your name, email address, profile information provided by your sign-in provider, account identifier, and authentication records.
  • Billing information. Your subscription status, customer identifier, and transaction records. Payments and payment details are handled by Stripe through its checkout and billing portal.
  • Support messages. Information you choose to send when you contact us.
  • Website activity. Technical information such as browser and device details, IP addresses, page visits, and interactions used to operate, secure, and improve the website. When website analytics is enabled, we use PostHog to understand how the site is used.

Google and GitHub sign-in

We use WorkOS to manage sign-in and account sessions. If you choose Google or GitHub, we request basic profile and email information to identify you and connect you to your Cathode account. These sign-in permissions do not grant Cathode access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or private GitHub repositories.

We use information received through Google sign-in for authentication and account management, in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can review or revoke Cathode's access in your Google or GitHub account settings.

How information is used and shared

We use this information to provide your account, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, and improve the website. Service providers process information needed for those functions, including WorkOS for authentication, Stripe for billing, Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, and PostHog when analytics is enabled.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect the security and rights of our users and services. Signing in does not make your account information public.

Cookies and local storage

Cathode uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and local storage to remember your appearance preference. Authentication providers may use their own cookies during sign-in. Analytics, when enabled, may use browser storage to measure visits and interactions. You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser; blocking required cookies may prevent sign-in from working.

Retention and your choices

Information is retained as needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. You can update your name in your account and manage your subscription through the billing portal. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information, contact us using the address below. Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, or security purposes.
